Frequently asked questions
If your question isn't here, send it over — it may end up on this page.
Playback
A song refuses to play or skips instantly. Why?
Catalogue rights vary by track and change over time — some streams get restricted by the upstream source. If it keeps happening for one specific track, report it with the song name and we’ll take a look.
Why does a track take a second to start?
The stream is resolved on demand rather than pre-fetched, so the first moment of a new track includes that lookup. Once it starts, playback is buffered normally.
Does music keep playing when I lock my phone?
In the Android app, yes — it runs a real native audio service with lock-screen and notification controls. In a browser it depends on the browser’s background policy.
Your library
Is my library really account-free?
Yes. Likes, playlists, recent plays and settings live entirely on your device — in browser storage on the web, in app storage on Android. Nothing leaves your device and we cannot read it.
I cleared my browser data and lost everything. Can you restore it?
No — and that is the trade-off of having no accounts. There is no cloud copy, so nothing to restore from. The same applies if you uninstall the Android app.
Can I move my library to another device?
Not automatically, since nothing syncs to a server. Playlists can be shared as links, which is the practical way to carry a set of songs across.
The app
How do I install VenomMusic on Android?
Download the APK from the home page, allow "Install unknown apps" for your browser when prompted, then tap Install. It sits in your launcher like any other app.
Is it on the Play Store?
No. It is distributed as an APK from this site only. If you find it anywhere else, that build is not ours.
Can I install the web version as an app?
Yes — open the browser menu and choose "Install app" / "Add to Home screen". It runs standalone as a PWA with media controls.
Is there an iOS or Windows version?
Not right now. The web player works in any browser on those platforms in the meantime.
Downloads & privacy
How do downloads work?
Hover any song row, or open the full player, and hit the download icon — you get the track at up to 320 kbps as an .m4a file named after the song and artist.
Do you track me or show ads?
Neither. No analytics, no advertising SDK, no accounts, nothing to profile. The full details are in the privacy policy.
Is VenomMusic free? Will that change?
It is free and there is no paid tier, no trial and no subscription. It is a personal project, not a business.
